On holiday!

It has been a while since my last entry. This is because I got to stop writing my blog in order to spend time on studying for the finals. I would like to recap what has been going on these few weeks, but I can hardly recall much. Actually, I just graduated and now just need to wait for my examination result. I finished my finals on 14th Dec and then had the IELTS tests on 15th Dec, 2007. I didn’t even have time to study for the IELTS tests while others always claimed they spent a few months to prepare for the test. I feel ashamed about it. If I don’t get a good result, that will be definitely my own fault, but so far I didn’t feel bad about the tests, coz they didn’t seem too difficult to me. Maybe I should explain this test a bit. IELTS stands for International English Language Test System. There are four tests: listening, writing, reading comprehension and speaking. All tests were held on the same day, started from 8:50am, till late afternoon. Once the tests finished, I went shopping even I was extremely tired. I didn’t buy much except 2 tops, but I did feel really relaxed after going through a whole exhausting week!

After that I spent a week at home, just lazed around, ate and chatted with my family a lot. Then was my bday, and it’s the first time I was not studying for the finals on my bday, so I had a great time to enjoy and ease up (coz I usually had my finals till late December).

I didn’t do much on Christmas, what I had done was staying with my family. And I found out my brother is so addicted to reading. We even cannot take the book off his hands during the lunches/ dinners. He showed us a list with which books he had read so far and we were just shocked about the long list and nearly 3/4 in the list are English novels. Mum said he spent a lot of time on reading every day, sometimes she cannot even call him off to start doing his homework after school. His finals will be coming on 3rd Jan, but he is still reading his novels now. Whenever I told him it’s time for studying, he just shrugs and says he will study after he finished the chapter he is reading. Sometimes, we like to laugh at him and say he is a bookworm, but frankly he is not. He love sports a lot, especially soccer. Apart from reading, he just discusses the matches of the English Premier League with us every day……how exciting the matches was between Arsenal and Chelsea……actually I know nothing about them, but I can start recalling those teams and players’ names after he had mentioned them a few times in a day.

Under his influence and because of my free time, I did finish books too. What I have so far are “The undomestic goddess” and “Shopaholic & Baby” by Sophie Kinsella, “Labyrinth” by Kate Mosse, “The Harlequin” by Laurell K. Hamilton and a funny book called “The A-Z of being single” by Jeff Green.

Here are some funny quotes:
Great chat-up lines—“Can I have a photo of you so Santa knows what to bring me for Christmas?
Ways to leave your lover—I’m sorry, I got hit on the head this morning. I really have no idea who you are. So I think you’d better pack your things and go.
—the fact is, I’ve been living a lie—I’m gay/ straight/ only 14 (delete as applicable)
—A man stopped me in the street today and told me this amazing stuff about Scientology.
—Carry this package through custom fir me, love. I’ll meet you on the other side.
—I love kids. I want hundreds.
—Yes, there is only a driver’s airbag but as I bought the car you’ll just have to take your chances.
—I’ve just checked out our family trees and guess what? We’re cousins!
—I don’t think I am being the unreasonable one. I only asked you to change three things—your looks, your friends and your personality.
—I’d given up all the hope but would you believe it, she’s out of the coma.

Just watched Fox news—A mom helped a six-year-old girl to make up a bogus story about her dad death in Iraq war in order to win the Hannah Montana’s concert ticket. I burst into laughter when I was watching it. What’s ashamed? Why people want Hannah Montana’s tix so desperately? And the truth is the dad is not dead and he is not in Iraq.

Ok, gotta go to have dinner now. I will try my best to keep posted. Peace~~
